Benefits of Getting a COVID-19 Vaccine

There are many reasons to get vaccination shots.

Doctors say that a shot may help you from getting very ill with COVID-19.

·       Getting a shot yourself may protect people around you.

Vaccination shots will be a safer way to guard against getting OVID-19

·       COVID-19 can give you serious health effects.

·       You could spread the disease to friends, family, and others.

·       Getting COVID-19 may offer some natural protection, known as immunity.

Where will I get my vaccine?

People who little or no medical insurance can get the vaccine through a county or partner clinic.

People over 70 can now get the COVID-19 vaccine. Age 65 and younger are next on the list. Sonoma County gives vaccine first to those most at risk to COVID-19. These people are health care and essential workers. Sonoma County is working with health care providers and pharmacies to increase the number of vaccinations. Your health center will contact you about scheduling your shot when the vaccine is available for you.

You will be able to make an appointment when you are eligible for a vaccine. You will make an appointment through your health care provider or at a vaccination clinic. People who have little or no medical insurance can get the vaccine through other providers such as CVS or Safeway. The vaccine is limited, so be calm and wait your turn.

You can go to the Sonoma County Vaccine page to find vaccine providers.
